Febuary 26 NCAA Betting

Finally got a winner last night with Northern Colorado. The side was never in doubt, and while we missed the total by two points on a horrible beat, I’m feeling hot! The board is electric today, and I’m betting it all. Trust the model.

Alabama vs. South Carolina (Total 145.5)

I do not trust either of these teams to win this game, but I do trust both sides to miss a ton of shots. Alabama’s offense has fallen off a cliff since we entered Febuary and with it, their star John Penny has been non- existent.  They have failed to score more than 70 points in their last four games and have looked lost on offense. On the other side, South Carolina can score a lot of points in bunches. However, Avery Johnson and Alabama have been effective in slowing down the game flow with a stagnant offense that commonly takes over 20 seconds just to get going. The model shows a slow half court game that goes way under.

Pick: Under 145.5

Iowa vs. Ohio State (1st half -2)

This is a must-win game for Ohio State and as I like to say a hungry dog runs faster. Iowa might be the luckiest team in the world, and for that reason, I am staying away from the full game’s side. I mean these guys needed two insane back to back buzzer-beaters to beat Northwestern and Rutgers. The basketball gods have been carrying them all season. However, the Hawkeye’s have struggled this season on the road and will continue to tonight. Ohio State was without their leading scorer CJ Jackson last game when they fell to Maryland by 10, but is expected to be back in the lineup tonight. Ohio State will come out firing on all cylinders.

Pick: Ohio State 1st Half -2

Syracuse (+11) vs. North Carolina

The zone is looking dangerous this time of year. Last Saturday Duke had no idea what to do and was in serious trouble until Syracuse forgot how to shoot the basketball. North Carolina is way overvalued after beating a Zion-less Duke team and Flordia State last week. Syracuse always gives North Carolina a hard time, and I’m not buying the Tarheels just yet. 11 points is a lot in a rivalry conference game and Vegas giving North Carolina 6 more points than they gave Duke last week smells like a rat line. The model loves the Orange here.

Pick: Syracuse +11

New Mexico (-10.5) vs. San Jose State (Total 154.5)

This total makes no sense whatsoever. San Jose State might be the worst college basketball team ever assembled. They are more likely to score 40 points than 60 or 70. I guess this total has some legs from last time these teams played when New Mexico put up 92 on San Jose. But I’m not falling for this over I am not kidding when I say my high school basketball team could cover this 10.5 point spread against the Spartans. I cannot emphasise how much these guys suck. The sharps have been betting them as underdogs all season long, and they never cover! Never. San Jose currently has sharp money on them with 43% of bets being placed on the Spartans but controlling 60% of the money. I’m not falling for these frauds again. New Mexico and the under to the moon.

Pick: New Mexico -10.5, under 154.5

Life’s too long to lose the over.
