In both the 49ers vs. Rams (over/under 51.5) and the Chiefs vs. Bengals (over/under 56) game, the public overwhelmingly bet on the over. According to The Action Network 75% of the public bet the over on the Rams and Niners and 76% of the public bet the over in the Chiefs and Bengals. Unfortunately, neither of these overs hit.
Both of these respective games were certified blowouts. The Rams manhandled C.J. Beathard, and the Niners 39-10, while the Chiefs dismantled the Bengals 45-10. As you can see both of these game were a measly field goal away from covering the over. A field goal that should have been kicked in both games if it were not for blatant collusion between the Chiefs and Niners head coaches.
With ten minutes remaining in Santa Clara, the score was 39-10, just three points from hitting the over. After nearly 7 minutes of no scoring, the 49ers had the ball with three minutes left in the red-zone. Worst case scenario, they were sure to kick a field goal to secure the bet. However, Beathard was sacked on third down to make it 4th, and 13 from the Rams 18 yard line, and instead of logically kick the field goal, Kyle Shanahan decided to go for it on 4th down. So, why the hell would you not just kick a field goal? Maybe there is some sense in saving face to lose 39-17 instead of 39-13 or whatever caused this inexplicable decision by Shanahan. But I am not buying it.
Similarly, in Kansas City, the Chiefs had the ball 4th and three from the Bengals 5 yard line. The game was in the bag for the Chiefs, take the points, kick the field goal, and end the game. Instead, you run it for the fourth time in a row with your second string running back?
Something about both of these decisions sounds fishy, and I plan on getting to the bottom of it.
A common misconception in sports is that players and coaches are unaware of the line Vegas puts out every week. Common arguments are that the teams are too busy watching film and game planning to take a quick peak on ESPN to see if they are favorites or underdogs, or to see how many points are projected to be scored. That is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard.
With the supreme court’s decision to legalize gambling at the discretion of the states. Every sports network and radio show are throwing out gambling odds left and right to their viewers, making it increasingly likely that both Reid and Shanahan knew the effect their respective final play calls would have on the American people.
With all the FBI investigations going on today that truthfully have no impact on the average American citizen, I believe it is time to investigate a matter that had a direct effect on millions of Americans hard earned money. To get to the bottom of this incomprehensible decision making, I believe it is only fair for the FBI to open up a full-fledged investigation of the Chiefs and 49ers head coaches. Only after hundreds of hours spent going through email and text messages, will I understand and accept the injustice that transpired yesterday.
In the meantime, hammer the Giants +4.5 and the over in tonights Monday night game.
